  • Estrutura do ISPS
  • Estrutura do ISPS no Brasil
  • Função do Company Security Officer(CSO)

ENGLISH

Recently, Maersk Training Brasil conducted a seminar about the ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security) Code.  The seminar was held with SENAI in Santos, SP, on 5 December.

The ISPS code was developed as a part of the international SOLAS (Safety Of Lives At Sea) Convention of the IMO (International Maritime Organisation) to establish an international standard for security for ships and other offshore vessels, as well as ports and port facilities.  The ISPS code was finally established ultimately as a result of the 11 September 2001 terrorist attack against the USA, and the security issues raised as a result.

The code establishes a minimum level of security required for ships, offshore vessels, and port facilities, to aid in the identification, detection, and prevention of possible security threats.  Among other things, the code requires the creation of security plans for vessels, and the appointment of security officers.

The Brazilian government has invested more than R$150 million towards complying with the international standards of the ISPS code, with R$30 million for the port of Santos, SP alone.

Maersk Training Brasil's ISPS code seminar includes discussion of the following topics:
  • Why the ISPS code was established
  • Threats to the maritime industry
  • Structure of the ISPS code
  • Structure of the ISPS code in Brazil
  • Functions of the Company Security Officer (CSO)
  • Functions of the Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO)
  • Security evaluation and discussion
The ISPS code seminar is a course with an open date, which means that it can be held at the time and place of the client's choosing, or can be held at the Maersk Training Brasil facilities whenever a sufficient number of prospective individual participants have expressed interest.

If you would like to participate in the ISPS code seminar, send us an email at brazil@maersktraining.com!
